Loperamide 2mg – 20 tablets
Loperamide, communicating with opioid receptors of the intestinal wall (stimulation of choline and adrenergic neurons through guanine nucleotides), reduces the tone and motility of the smooth muscles of the intestine, slows down the passage of the contents of the intestine, reduces the release of fluid and electrolytes with feces. Increases the tone of the anal sphincter, helps to retain fecal masses and reduce the urge to defecate. Action comes quickly and lasts 4-6 hours.
Absorption-40%. The time required to achieve Cmax – 2.5 hours Connection with the plasma protein – 97%. T1/2 – 9-14 h does Not penetrate the blood-brain barrier. Almost completely metabolized in the liver by conjugation. It is excreted mainly by the intestine; a small part is excreted by the kidneys (in the form of conjugated metabolites).
Symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhoea of various etiology (allergic, emotional, drug, radiation: when changing power mode and qualitative composition of food in violation of metabolism and absorption: as adjuvant in diarrhoea of infectious origin).
